Kiepe Misalignment Switches are enabled by approaching and swinging out of the roller lever when a switching angle is reached. When the belt runs correctly once more, the misalignment switch will reset automatically.

Depending on the type of switch, two switching points can be provided for warning (pre-alarm) and switch-off; furthermore, latching of the roller lever after enabling is possible.

Conveyor belts are subjects to wear and tear during operation. For this reason, repair measures like vulcanization and splicing have to be carried out from time to time.
In large conveyor plants, impending belt damages are not always noticed. The Kiepe belt wear monitor type BLS® enables the following belt damages to be detected at an early stage:
• parts of the belt have come off in shreds
• steel ropes stand off from the belt
• belt edges are torn
• facings of a repair point have come off
• splices are defective
Rubber shreds protruding from the belt can get caught in a carrying roller station – in the worst case – tear up the belt or belt facing on the whole length. The same applies for broken and drooping steel ropes of an armoured belt.

The electronic speed monitor relay EDO is used in connection with a pulse sensor to monitor the rotational speed and standstill of drives.
Pulse sensors according to NAMUR EN 50227 as well as 3-wiresensors can be connected to the EDO relay. The pulse output is fed to the speed monitor relay where the pulse frequency is compared with the frequency set by the control of the relay. When the input frequency passes the set frequency the internal output relay is switched.
Warning or control equipment can be connected to this output relay and operate when the speed either increases or decreases from the setpoint.
The new multi-layer contact of the output relay improves the true operation of the contact in a wide range up to 5 A and 250V. The operation of the relay can be inhibited during start-up of the monitored drive by adjusting the start-up potentiometer to the time taken for the drive to reach operating speed.

The DG type proximity switches are contactless pulse transducers. They are especially designed to meet operating conditions, where high switching accuracy, durability, corrosion and wear resistance are required.
